Russell Kennedy is pleased to congratulate Michael Gorton AM on his appointment as the Board Chair for Holmesglen Institute of TAFE (Holmesglen Institute). Michael previously held the role of Holmesglen Institute’s Quality Committee Chair. He succeeds retiring Chair, Peter Lewinsky who held the position of longest serving Chair in Victoria’s TAFE network.
In a statement released by Holmesglen Institute, Chief Executive, Mary Faraone, says the announcement will continue Holmesglen’s position as a leading provider of vocational education in Australia. “Michael’s extensive Board experience will ensure the Institute continues to enjoy strong governance and stewardship.”
Michael brings a wealth of experience to the role, with his expertise and knowledge from his current Board positions including: Chair of the Board of Alfred Health, President of the Board of Directors of Wellways Australia and former Board Member of Ambulance Victoria.
Michael says “It is an honour to be entrusted with this position at such an established and leading provider of vocational and higher education. The Institute recently marked its 40th year and I’m proud to play a key part in its next chapter. We are well placed to support Victoria through the skills shortage and a rapidly changing economy”.
