The reforms announced by the NSW Government in June this year, which we discussed in our webinar on 2 July 2020, have been implemented with the amending Act receiving Royal Assent on 25 November 2020.

In this webinar, our experienced retirement living team provided updates on the reforms set out in the amending Act, including the new compulsory buy-back of units, capping recurrent charges when a registered interest holder moves out and supporting residents’ transition into aged care.

This webinar replay provides an overview of the reforms and how they may impact your operations.

Our panelists covered:

  • The regime for compulsory buy-backs for registered interest holders
  • Registered interest holders’ recurrent charges capped at 42 days
  • How operators can facilitate a seamless transition into aged care
  • The differences between the announcement made in June 2020 and the Act as passed

The panelists for this webinar were Rohan HarrisRosemary SouthgateDonna Rayner, and Sylvia Mansour.
