On Wednesday, 17 July 2024, the Russell Kennedy Workplace Employment and Safety team hosted an online seminar on Workplace Relations - Incoming Changes to Independent Contractor Arrangements.

On 26 August 2024, the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) (Fair Work Act) will be changing the definition of employee. Many businesses engage contractors and should understand what this new definition means for their current and future contracting arrangements. Businesses will need to be aware of any entitlements they may owe to contractors. One important entitlement for businesses to consider is the requirement to pay superannuation to employees and certain contractors.
