Catherine is a property, infrastructure and development lawyer with extensive experience in all aspects of complex commercial, industrial and residential property transactions, as well as advising on land acquisition and development for infrastructure and other major projects.

Her specialities are major projects, electrical power, data, infrastructure and technology projects, property and commercial law and transactions, easements, commercial and industrial property development, mixed use property development, pre-commitment leasing, landlord and tenant portfolio leasing and asset management advice, breach of contract/lease and dispute resolution, as well as experience in finance, procurement and contract management. She has expertise in documenting, interpreting and implementing complex leases and other long term property arrangements.

During her career, Catherine has worked both in private practice and in-house for listed corporations including Woolworths Limited, McDonalds Australia Limited, Australand Holdings Limited (now Frasers Property Limited) and Allco Finance Group/Record Realty.


Experience

  • Advising liquidators in relation to sale of Crown Group $1bn portfolio of real estate assets.
  • Advising global technology company in relation to land acquisition and development of Asia Pacific data centre projects (Australia and India) including electricity supply leases and easements.
  • Advising pastoral landowners in relation to land access and lease agreements for solar and wind farm projects.
  • Advising TransGrid in relation to land and easement acquisitions, construction access and delivery of Humelink, Snowy II, and Powering Sydney’s Future projects.
  • Advising Lumea in relation to the acquisition of easement and lease rights for power supply and connection on contestable projects.
  • Advising NSW government in relation to the redevelopment and leasing of Walsh Bay Arts Precinct.
  • Advising in relation to development, and commercial and retail leasing for Green Square Town Centre.
  • In-house property legal lead on Woolworths proposed $1.8bn sale of petrol station business to BP.
