Jessica is a highly skilled retirement living lawyer, practising for over 12 years in property, retirement living and aged care.

She has extensive experience assisting retirement village operators with compliance, contracts, conveyancing and dispute resolution, and clients value Jessica as much for her friendly approach and excellent interpersonal skills as for her technical expertise and integrity. Indeed, much of her success rests on positive word-of-mouth referrals, from clients who know they can trust that Jessica has their matters well in hand.

Previously, Jessica founded her own legal practice with a focus on assisting residents. She subsequently brought that unique and in-depth understanding to her work with operators. Jessica is both diligent and strategic in addressing their complex needs, providing practical and cost-effective legal solutions.

Experience

  • Acting for and advising owners, operators and developers of retirement villages in Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia including acquisitions, providing compliance advice and preparing contracts and other documents.
  • Former Legal Counsel at Lendlease, addressing legal issues across its national retirement village portfolio, providing advice, managing its conveyancing practice and implementing contract standardisation.
  • Advised Lendlease on compliance with significant legislative changes, assisting with implementation including resident approvals in relation to service fee changes. Jessica also played a key role in preparing residence contracts and disclosure documents across multiple states for several of its major projects.
  • Previously ran her own legal practice, Village Advisors, assisting residents with entry, occupancy, and exit matters, coordinating settlements, and representing residents in disputes, including advising residents on a high-profile class action. She brought this legal practice to a well regarded suburban law firm, where she led their retirement living practice, acting for both operators and residents.
