With over 17 years practising in the law profession, Taryn is an experienced private client lawyer with a demonstrated history of working across estate planning, property and commercial law. She is particularly skilled in and focuses on estate planning, probate and administration, succession law and estate dispute resolution.

Taryn's primary focus is to build trusting relationships and to assist and enhance the wellbeing of clients and their families.

Taryn aims to provide peace of mind for clients helping them to age well and to support them in their lifecycle of wealth creation, protection and succession, including protection of the vulnerable.

Taryn's related experience in property, family law and commercial law coupled with her client-centred approach, enables her to identify the issues and provide holistic, practical and strategic advice to clients in relation to the myriad matters that span the practice of estates and succession law.

Experience

  • Advising on estate planning strategies for individuals, couples and families (including blended families and high net worth individuals) and assisting with the preparation of suitable structures and estate planning documents.
  • Advising in respect of jointly owned assets, superannuation interests and trusts.
  • Advising on succession of business interests and the succession of controlling interests and appointments in private companies and trusts.
  • Drafting standard Wills, testamentary trust Wills and inter-vivos trust deeds and deeds of variation.
  • Advising on asset protection tools and strategies for preserving wealth for vulnerable/disabled beneficiaries or in relation to re-partnering risk.
  • Advising in respect of and preparing Special Disability Trusts and requisite statutory declarations for submission to Centrelink.
  • Preparing and advising in respect of Powers of Attorney and Guardianship appointments.
  • Advising and assisting with the preparation of applications to NCAT for appointments of financial managers and guardians.
  • Extensive experience with the process of identifying estate assets and applying for Probate and Letters of Administration including applying for reseals of interstate and overseas grants and estate administration.
  • Acting for plaintiffs and defendants in family provision claims.
