One of the trends we have seen this year is an increase in either current or recently departed employees attempting to misuse, disclose or make off with documents and information belonging to their employer. In some cases the material is commercially sensitive. In other cases the information includes individuals’ personal or health information.
This session looks at the legal status of sensitive information, the options employers can take to make its abuse less likely, and how to respond when employees cross that line.
We will address the following in the webinar:
- Confidential information – what is and what is not protected
- Intellectual Property – what is and what is not protected
- How to go about protecting it
- What to do when an employee misuses or discloses sensitive information
- Privacy implications
Presenting will be Anthony Massaro (Principal) and Gina Tresidder (Principal). Members from our broader team of Workplace Relations, Employment and Safety lawyers will also assist with Q&A throughout the session.
